Course of Studies

The course of studies stipulates the general terms and conditions for passing individual study programmes
Study modes Classification of individual study programmes according to the study modes (full-time, part-time). Part-time mode (K1/K2): classes and examinations at the weekends. Full-time mode (P1/P2): classes and examinations during workdays.

Classes and exams
Division of the academic year (trimesters), schedule of classes and exams (full-time / part-time studies), administration of exams, kinds of examination sessions (open examination session, restricted examination session, extra examination session).

Electronic enrolment Conditions and dates for the electronic enrolment in the 1st year of studies (applicants, according to the date when they start their studies – October, January, April), in the 2nd and the 3rd years of studies (students, whose studies are not completed by the time of the electronic enrolment, i.e. 01/06 - 01/07), individual date of the electronic enrolment.

Administrative enrolment Conditions and dates for the administrative enrolment in the 1st year of studies (applicants, according to the date when they start their studies – October, January, April), in the 2nd and the 3rd years of studies (students, whose studies are not completed by the time of the administrative enrolment, i.e. 01/06 - 01/07), individual date of the electronic enrolment, process of the administrative enrolment.

Study results supervision Stipulates the general terms and conditions for checking the level of the students’ knowledge and skills acquired (by means of exams, essays, presentations, credits, case studies, practical applications, etc.) and requirements for completion of the individual courses, seminars, study modules, and seminar blocks.

Recognizing classes Administrative requirements and conditions for recognizing classes/exams passed at other universities/colleges, materials to be submitted by the student (annotation of the study subject, confirmation of its successful completion, overview of bibliography).

Individual study plan (ISP) Terms and conditions for an individual study plan (at the student’s request), possibilities and alternatives (study period reduction/extension), data and materials to be submitted by the applicant

Interruption of studies Terms and conditions for an interruption of studies (at the student’s request), minimal (1 trimester) and maximal (12 months) period of interruption, possibilities and alternatives (study period reduction/extension), data and materials to be submitted by the applicant

Foreign languages Tuition of the English language at VSEM (compulsory), form of  the courses (full-time, part-time study mode), necessary entry level (A1/A2/A3), terms and conditions, methods used, classes and exams, study plans, materials, sample tests, optional foreign languages tuition (German, French, Russian, Spanish, Italian).

Studies abroad Terms and conditions (minimal and maximal length, qualifications, administrative requirements, selection process, financial matters, scholarships, recognition of the study subjects a student has successfully completed abroad by VSEM), study programmes abroad available (Erasmus - Europe, FM EEA/Norway, USA, Australia, Canada).

Completion and conclusion of studies
General instructions for the conclusion and completion of studies, standard and maximal length of studies, exceeding the standard period for conclusion of studies (additional trimester), final module, Bachelor / Diploma thesis, exceeding the standard period for completion of studies.

Transfers of students and graduates
General terms and conditions for the transfer of students within different study modes (full-time / part/time) and  transition  from the Bachelor’s study programme (Bc.) to the Master’s study programme (Ing./MBA), advantages of VSEM graduates (financial support, possibility of individual study plans, alumni programme).
