Academic Calendar

The calendar for each academic year is defined in the Rector's Directive, stipulating the start dates of trimesters, the University holiday schedule, and the end date of the academic year. The calendar also indicates the period, during which students can enrol for course units provided by University of Economics and Management.

Academic year at VSEM is divided into 3 trimesters:

Autumn term:  1.9. - 31.1. (January - exam period)
Winter term:     1.1. - 30.4. (April - exam period)
Summer term:  1.4. - 30.6. (June - exam period) 

AR 2017/2018:

Start of the Academic Year 2017/2018 1.9. 2017                
End of the Academic Year 2017/2018 31.8. 2018               

Autumn term

The First Meeting Erasmus+ autumn term 13.9. 2017
Start of lectures during the autumn term 19th September 2017 
End of lectures during the autumn term 7th December 2017
Christmas holidays 23.12. 2017 - 1.1. 2018
Exam period for the autumn term 2.1. 2018 - 15.1. 2018

Winter term

  • January, 1 – New Year´s Day
  • April 14 - Good Friday
  • April 17 – Easter Monday
  • May, 1 – Labour Day - May Day
  • May, 8 – Liberation Day (marking the end of World War II)
