Extracurricular Activities

The College of Economics and Management provides students with administrative, organizational and financial support within the extracurricular activities of VSEM.

Sport

Within the extracurricular activities of VSEM, we offer various possibilities relaxation. Students can enroll at various sport courses for free. For registration see Academic Sports Club of the College of Economics and Management (ASC VSEM).

Athletics

The participants are going to acquire the basics of several athletic disciplines (running, jumping, throwing etc.), they will learn to create a training plan, they will analyze the techniques theoretically (video) and they will be introduce some of the necessary equipment (Asics). Capacity: 5 – 10 people. When: 1 – 4 day course (June). Accommodation: boarding house. Where: 1-day course (Faculty of Physical Education in Prague), 4-day course (Houštka – Stará Boleslav). Price:  participant pays for the accommodation and food.

Basketball

The course starts with some theoretical basis (history, current trends, important events), then comes the practical part. Where: the sports hall T.J. Sokol in Královské Vinohrady. Price: paid by VSEM for the members of VSK VSEM. The instruction is provided by Simon Bytel, the sports scholarship holder.

Cross-Country Skiing

The participants will improve their running style, they will learn to organize a training, they will be also explained some theoretical basis of the sport, including video analysis. In addition, they will be introduced the necessary equipment (Bjorn Daehlie) with the explanation how to care for it. The equipment and other material will be available for free for the participants. Capacity: 5 – 10 people. When: 4-day course (March). Accommodation: boarding house. Price: participant pays for the accommodation. The instruction is provided by the Nyč Sport ski school.

Climbing/Bouldering

The course includes both theory and practice on the bouldering wall. Capacity: 5 – 15 people. Date: a 2-day training in April. Where: the sports centre in Palmovka, Prague. Price: paid by VSEM for the members of VSK VSEM. Equipment: can be rented (paid by VSEM). The instruction is provided by professional trainers and by the sports scholarship holders of VSEM (Groh, Nekvindová).

Cycling

The participants will learn be explained the theory of cycling and they will also have the possibility to acquire the technique of cycling practically, under supervision of specialists. Another component of the course is an analysis of video recordings. Capacity: 5 –  20 people. When: 1-day course in September or October. Equipment: a good bicycle (an examination is recommended), helmet. Price: paid by VSEM for the members of VSK VSEM. The instruction is provided by the trainer of Jiří Ježek.

Fitness

Golf

The course includes both theory (history, rules) and practice with professional golf trainers. Capacity: 5 – 25 people. Date: 1-day course in June. Where: the golf centre Čechie. Price: 1.000 CZK / person / 2hours. (It includes the supervision of a professional trainer, admission, equipment).  One half of the amount is paid by VSEM for the members of ASC VSEM.

Down-Hill Skiing/Snowboarding

The course will help the participants to improve their technique of skiing, they will acquire some methods of ski training. Another component of the course is an analysis of video recordings. The course includes also a presentation of equipment. Capacity: 5 – 10 people. When: 4-day course in March. Accommodation: boarding house. Equipment: can be rented. Price: the participants only pay for the accommodation, the rest is paid for by VSEM. 

Swimming

The course will help the participants to improve the technique of swimming, they will also become familiar with some training methods. Another component of the course is an analysis of video recordings. The course includes also a presentation of equipment. Capacity: 5 – 20 people. When: 1 or 2-day courses in June. Where: the VSC swimming pool in Strahov, Prague. Price: paid for by VSEM. 

Tennis

The course will help the participants to improve the technique of tennis, they will also become familiar with some training methods. Another component of the course is an analysis of video recordings. The course includes also a presentation of equipment (Wilson). Capacity: 5 – 10 people. When: 1 or 2-day courses in June. Where: the tennis courts in Brno. Accommodation: boarding house. Price: the participants only pay for the accommodation, the rest is paid for by VSEM. 

Volleyball/Beach Volleyball

The course will help the participants to improve the technique of volleyball, they will also become familiar with some training methods. Another component of the course is an analysis of video recordings. Capacity: 6 – 15 people. When: 1-cay course (September). Where: Gutovka (Praha - Strašnická). Equipment: can be rented. Price: the course is paid for by VSEM.
