Exams (EX)
Exam (Ex) verifies the total output knowledge acquired within the respective study subject. Exam sessions take place during the whole calendar year according to the administration tasks for the respective academic year.
Administration of the exam terms
- Only the exam tests/questions for the respective academic year are used at all exam sessions.
- In selected study subjects/modules a student can use VŠEM standardised tools, and the specification of the tools is defined in the respective study/module subject annotation.
- Writing materials (potentially standardized formulas and tools, calculator, full wording of acts, etc.) are delivered to the students within the specified examination term (a student must not use his/her own standardized tools).
- During the examination session, a student is obliged to adhere to the instructions and rules the respective academic year Vnitřní předpisy VŠEM.
- A student is obliged to pass within the examination term (EZT, ZZK, RZT) all study subjects/exams he/she applies for by means of SIS VŠEM (apology from a part of the examination term is not accepted).
Exam classification and evaluation of the exam terms
- The exam is evaluated within the scope of 0 - 100 points and classified in standard point scope.
- The exam test (EZT, OZT) includes the evaluation of partial answers within the given question where full score is assigned only in case of all correct answers (in case of a mistake, the respective questions means no points for the student (0 points)). During the exam tests evaluation within EZT, a student receives a number of points compliant to the answer ration specified by the student to the total of correct answers (e.g. the question is worth 5 points and 3 answers are correct, a student checks only 2, the evaluation will be 3.33 points).
- If a student failed to arrive to the exam session, i.e. does not send an apology within 7 days from the date of the EX by means of SIS VŠEM/Studijní formulář/Omluva the exam attempt will be classified "4 - unsatisfactory".
- An appropriate apology must be completed with the confirmation from a physician/employer compliant with the obligatory issues (headed notepaper, term, reason for the absence, stamp and signature of the physician/employer or the superior employee, telephone of the physician/employer or the superior employee).
Viewing the exam test
- A student can within 30 days from registering the results in SIS VŠEM/E-index check the classified/corrected exam test at the study department based on the sent and approved application by means of SIS VŠEM/Studijní formulář/Nahlédnutí do testu (a student defines the study subject, date of ET, date of picking up/viewing ET).
- The application for viewing the test can be sent after the publishing/issuing the exam test classification in SIS VŠEM/E - index, at the latest 48 hours prior to the specified term for viewing the exam test.
- The exam test does not indicate correct/wrong answers, only assigned number of points for the tested question. The student must find the correct answers within the exam viewing him/her self with the support of basic literature available for lending.
- A student can apply for reviewing the exam test results (evaluation revision) within 30 days from recording the results in SIS VŠEM/E-index, based on the student’s application to view the test.
- After 30 days the exam test results are considered applicable and definitive (provision of SZŘ).
- Viewing the exam test and subsequent definition of disputable questions/answers is the condition for exam test revision by the lecturer/department.
Revision of the exam test
- The revision of the exam test is submitted to the lecturer only in case of clear objections and reasoning of the respective question/answer (request for revision of the exam).
- The application for the exam test revision must always include the specific controversial questions and answers subject to the revision (without the specified issues the application will be cancelled).
- Recording notes, making copies or photocopies during the test viewing/ exam test revision is not permitted for the students with applied identical instructions and sanctions as during the examination sessions.
- The number of points assigned within the respective revision of the exam test exceeds 10% of the total number of points for the test exam (i.e. over 10% points received), the test is annulled (the exam term is not assigned for the student and he/she receives an offer with a spare exam term).
- During the test viewing/exam test revision, a student has available a basic study literature for the respective study subject (borrowed from the study department).
- The exam test revision result is available for the student within 14 days from submitting/registering the application (student’s email, files of the applicant/student).
- Exam test revision has no postponement effect for the classification of further exam attempt when the final exam test evaluation is considered the last classification evaluation in E-index, i.e. the evaluation with the latest date of exam test implementation, regardless the revision result.
Examination term
- The examination terms have electronic (EZT), written (OZT, RZT, ZZK) or oral (UZT, MZT) form and the students passes them within the examination sessions, see SIS VŠEM/Zkoušky studenta/Přehled zkouškových termínů .
- A student has three attempts from each enrolled study subject.
- After the failure to pass a third exam attempt (4 – unsatisfactory), he/she can apply for the Rector exam term by means of SIS VŠEM/Studijní formulář (no legal claim for the rector term).
- Electronic and written exams have the Multiple choice form with the option of more correct answers (a/b/c/d/e).
- The sample exam tests are available for the students in SIS VŠEM/E-vyhledavač. The sample tests are used only for information purposes for the students as regards the formal layout of the exam test, and the accurate number of questions and the point evaluation is specified in the annotation to each study subject.
Electronic exam term (EET)
- Electronic form of testing the student’s knowledge for the respective study subject.
- The deadline for submitting the applications for the respective exam term is from 23:59 before the exam term.
- The deadline for cancellation for the respective exam term is always 72 hours before the exam term (before 23:59), see SIS VŠEM/Zkoušky studenta/Přihlásit na zkouškový termín
- A student can assign for the maximum of 5 terms EET and the registry of another term will be possible after passing the first registered term.
- Student selects the term and time of the exam commencement according to the free capacity of the classroom, and a student receives it after the registration of the respective study subject/s in his/her student e-mail.
- Student can write the exam test only from the subject/s registered by means of SIS VŠEM/Zkoušky studenta/Přihlášení na zkoušku.
- Student can register only for the exams from the study subjects registered in his/her schedule. A student can register for new exam attempt from the given study subject after its classification, i.e. passing the exam term.
- Student can write the number of exam tests only from the subject/s registered by means of SIS VŠEM/Zkoušky studenta/Přihlášení na zkoušku.
- After entering the exam room/classroom, the student’s baggage (bags, handbags, cases, etc.) must be stored in the storage areas or handed over to the administration supervision of VŠEM.
- Student can enter the exam room upon the instruction from the administration supervision, the earliest 10 minutes before the commencement of the given exam term. The registration for the exam term takes place in the exam room, and the student provides his/her student card and other ID documents to the supervisors. The student records the arrival and departure for the exam session by means of the registration terminal inside the room. A student will not be able to pass the exam session without his/her student card.
- Exam test evaluation (points) is available for the students usually immediately after completing the EET the exam providing the results/classification are recorded for the students in SIS VŠEM/E-index (electronic index) and automatically sent to the student‘s e-mail (the latest date evaluation in E-index is included in the classification review).

Open exam term (EET)
- Written form of testing the student’s knowledge for the respective study subject.
- Deadline for submitting/cancelling the applications for the respective exam term is from Wednesday (23:59) before the exam session.
- Accurate time of the testing commencement is sent to the student to the student e-mail after the closing of the respective exam term (within OZT a student can after the application deadline request the change of commencement time by means of SIS VŠEM/Studijní formulář).
- Student can write any number of exam tests only from the subject/s registered by means of SIS VŠEM/Zkoušky studenta/Přihlášení na zkoušku.
- Student after the registration and proving his/her ID of VŠEM student receives the exam test and the card with the number of tests.
- After entering the exam room/classroom, the student’s baggage (bags, handbags, cases, etc.) must be stored in the storage areas or handed over to the administration supervision of VŠEM.
- Student registration takes place 30 minutes before the beginning of the respective exam term (proving the student’s identity by means of the student card, submitting the card with the number of passed tests), exam tests are delivered to the students 10 minutes before commencing the exam term.
- Commencement, time, and length of the exam session is specified by the number of enrolled students.
- Exam test evaluation is available for the students usually within 7 days from the exam term passing date providing the results are recorded for the students in SIS VŠEM/E-index (electronic index) and automatically sent to the student‘s e-mail (the latest date evaluation in E-index is included in the classification review).
- Failure to pass the rector term (4 – unsatisfactory) means the student must repeat the presence part of the tuition of the respective study subject.
Oral exam term (OET)
- Oral form of testing the student’s knowledge for the respective study subject (OET is committee exam).
- A student can within the extraordinary terms and services (ETS) request to pass the oral exam term from the given subject.
- The content and time scope of OET is identical to the time given for the standard exam terms (EET, OET) specified in the annotation to the respective study subjects/modules.
- OET terms are posted based on the number of enrolled students within the office hours of the study department (Mo – Fri: 12 - 17).
- A student applies for the oral exam term by means of Studijního formuláře/Mimořádné termíny a služby
- In case of the enrolled student absence and due to the OET form (committee exam), the administration fee will not be returned to the student (apology of the student has no effects).
Module exam (MEX)
- Module exam (MEX) verifies the total output knowledge acquired within the respective study module.
- Module exam has a form of a written output and oral presentation passed by the student within the respective exam session, see SIS VŠEM/Přehled zkouškových termínů.
- The case study is sent in an electronic format as one file (title page, accompanying sheet, study text) by means of SIS VŠEM/Studijní formulář/Seminární práce in permitted format (DOC, DOCX). The term for submitting the case study is before the 1st day of the month preceding the date of the module exam.

- If the case study is evaluated with the level ‘incompliant’, a student will not be able to participate in the oral presentation and the resulting mark from the whole module exam will also be ‘Incompliant’.
- The presentation is delivered by means of SIS VŠEM/Studijní formulář/Žádost/dotaz/Seminární práce/Seminární blok at the latest within the 15th day of the month preceding the module testing.
- Passing the module exam relates to the respective modules of the specialisation (Bc.) and the study module Marketing environment (MBA), see the Annotation of the respective study modules.
- After successful passing of the module exam conditions (case study, presentation of the results, discussion), a student receives 12 credits and the assignment of exams from all three subjects within the respective module.
- Student can pass the module exam (presentation) after completing the tuition of the last study subject from the respective study module according to the student’s schedule.
- Student after passing the first module exam (MET) cannot change the method of the knowledge testing (EET, OET) from the respective study module, i.e. the student must within MET use all remaining exam attempts by means of MET.
- During each trimester, the students have three exam sessions available (1st Wednesday in the month) for passing the module exams by means of presentation. Enrolment by means of SIS VŠEM/Zkoušky studenta/Přihlášení na zkoušku.
- Failure to pass the rector term (4 – unsatisfactory) means the student must terminate the studies due to incompliance with the conditions.
Rector exam term (RET)
- Electronic form of testing the student’s knowledge for the respective study subject after the third failure to pass the exam.
- After the failure to pass a third exam attempt (4 – unsatisfactory), he/she can apply for the Rector exam term by means of Studijního formuláře/Žádost/dotaz/Rektorský termín ).
- Within the application for RET, a student is obliged to prove and justify the entitlement of the application for the rector exam term (the reasons for failure during the appropriate and corrective exam terms).
- Rector term is possible to pass only within the posted terms for EET (date and time), see total review of posted EET terms within Kalendáře výuky a zkoušek for the given academic year/trimester.
- Rector term outside the posted EET terms is possible only within the paid for Extraordinary terms and services (ETS).
- Student’s application for the RET must be sent at the latest 7 days prior to the date of the respective RET (before 23:59.) specifying the respective study subject and the exam date, when a student can select the RET only by means of the student department (after the approval of the student’s application sent within SIS VŠEM/Study forms).
- The RET evaluation (points) is available for the students usually immediately after completing the RET providing the results/classification are recorded for the students in SIS VŠEM/E-index (electronic index) and automatically sent to the student‘s e-mail.
- Failure to pass the rector term (4 – unsatisfactory) means the student must repeat the presence part of the tuition of the respective study subject, and payment free repetition of the tuition depends on the respective price level of the tuition fee (Premium).
- There is no legal claim for the rector term providing the failure to receive the rector term means the study termination due to incompliance with the conditions.
