Academic mission of the Czech Republic in Asia
VŠEM as part of the delegation of Czech universities at EXPO 2025!
The largest academic delegation to date, consisting of rectors, vice-rectors, and heads of international departments from 18 Czech universities, was sent on an intensive two-day meeting with their Taiwanese counterparts in Taipei. Afterwards, the delegation also visited Osaka, Japan, for the EDU Day organized by the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research (DZS) on the occasion of the EXPO 2025 World Exhibition.
VŠEM was represented at this significant event by the Vice-Rector for Strategy and Development, Mgr. Bohumil Kartous, Ph.D., who presented the vision of our university and established contact with representatives from more than 70 universities in Taiwan and Japan.
- During the week-long program, the goal was to get acquainted with individual institutions and visit their facilities (e.g. National Taiwan University (NTU), National Chengchi University (NCCU), National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan Tech), and Kansai University), as well as to deepen collaboration on student exchanges and joint research projects.
- The Taiwan - Czechia Higher Education Forum, organized by DZS in cooperation with the national agency FICHET (Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan), offered a space to strengthen relations between the Czech Republic and Taiwan in the field of education and research.
- During the special education-focused day, EDU Day, at the EXPO 2025 World Exhibition, the quality of Czech universities, top-tier research, and innovative background were again highlighted.
