The publication focuses on accounting and sustainable development reporting covering the following points of view a) macroeconomic, b) programs and instruments, which can be used for supporting the concept of sustainable development, and c) sustainability accounting and reporting of a company.

It analyzes individual pillars of the competitiveness, with the focus on its knowledge-based characteristics: institutional quality, innovational performance, and quality of human resources. The precondition and the result of successful competitiveness are macroeconomic performance and stability sustainable on long-term basis.

Fostering Innovation and Knowledge Transfer in European Regions (W. L. Filho, M. Weresa (eds.), Frankfurt a.M., P. Lang 2008, ISBN 978-3-631-58195-7 , 321 p.) – The publication contains pieces, which originated within an international project “The transfer of knowledge - the analysis of the science-business relationship for the Regional Innovation Strategy in Mazovia region” co-financed by the Polish government and the European Social Fund. The project was executed by the research team of the Warsaw School of Economics with the participation of foreign experts (A. Kadeřábková participated on behalf of CES).

Růst, stabilita a konkurenceschopnost IV (“Growth, stability, and competitiveness IV”; A. Kadeřábková et al.; Prague, Linde 2008, ISBN 978-80-86131-79-5, 389 p.) – the presented publication of the Center of Economic Studies of VŠEM is already the fourth of the “Growth, stability, and competitiveness” series. It namely emphasizes an evaluation of economic performance in the globalization process, including methodology specifics of various analytical approaches within international and sector comparison. The second part discusses qualitative characteristics of competitiveness, focusing on its structural characteristics on a sector, segment, regional, and corporate level.

Knowledge and innovation processes in Central and East European economies (K. Piech, ed.; Cracow, EIKON Plus 2007, ISBN 978-83-60653-03-6, 356 p.) – the publication was written with the objective of summarizing the latest research results in the field of knowledge and innovation processes in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, with special emphasis on the countries of the Visegrád Four (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary). It namely contains issues associated with knowledge economy, research and development, innovations, legislation affecting innovations, education / culture, e-business, etc. The books does discuss innovations only, it also deals with problems associated with human resources.

Růst, stabilita a konkurenceschopnost III (“Growth, stability, and competitiveness III”; A. Kadeřábková et al.; Prague, Linde 2007, ISBN 978-80-86131-71-9, 384 p.) – the presented publication of the Center of Economic Studies of VŠEM is linked with the results of previous research projects published in 2003 and 2004 (Growth, stability, and competitiveness I and II). The current publication includes output aimed at selected aspects of the section research of the CES VŠEM, i.e. competitiveness with the emphasis on its qualitative characteristics. The attention is mainly paid to theoretical and methodological problems, and specific analytical applications, as the case might be, in the areas of macroeconomic growth and stability, institutional quality, and innovational performance. The analysis covers international comparison (position of the Czech Republic in the EU), sector and regional level, as well as results of company level inspections.

Radosevic; London, Palgrave Macmillan 2006, ISBN 1-4039-3657-9, 320 p.) – the publication presents an evaluation of development of knowledge-based economy of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, whereas it focuses on examples of individual countries as well as various industries and analysis of political decision making.

Konkurencieschopnosť slovenskej a českej ekonomiky - stav a perspektívy (“Competitiveness of the Slovak and the Czech economies – situation and perspectives”; M. Šikula et al.; Bratislava, SAV 2006, ISBN 80-7144-148-1, 264 p.) – the publication was written as part of resolution of grants of GACR Growth performance and qualitative competitiveness of the Czech economy 402/05/2210 and represents a symposium of pieces from the Slovak-Czech scientific conference, where research of the CES VŠEM and the Institute of Economic Research SAS presented the results of the current research, which clarified strengths and weaknesses of the present and expected future competitiveness of the Czech and the Slovak economies.

It is drafted as the basic overview information source for the general public, and it is part of a serious of collective publication, which are realized within the resolution of both projects.

Růst, stabilita, konkurenceschopnost II: aktuální problémy české ekonomiky při vstupu do EU (“Growth, stability, and competitiveness II: current problems of the Czech economy at the time of its EU entry”; eds. A. Kadeřábková, V. Spěváček, M. Žák; Prague, Linde 2004, ISBN 80-86131-49-1, 383 p.) – the publication was written as part of resolution of a grant of GACR and research project of the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports at the Department of Economic Policy of the University of Economics in 2003 (University of Economics as the grant bearer was not interested in the publication). The publication focuses on issues associated with political and economic context of the EU entry, macroeconomic development and external equilibrium, competitive advantages, and foreign direct investments. 

Výzvy pro podnikání - inovace a vzdělání: Česká republika na cestě ke znalostně založené ekonomice (“Business research – innovation and education: Czech Republic on the road to knowledge-based economy”; A. Kadeřábková; Prague, Linde 2004, ISBN 80-86131-50-5, 199 p.) – the publication was written as part of a research project of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs resolved in the National Observatory of employment and training in 2003. Position of the Czech Republic is assessed within a broader international comparison from the perspective of presumptions for the development of knowledge-intensive (from the perspective of technology and qualification) activities and sources of quality-based competitive advantage (namely research and development, innovations, and human resources).

Přímé zahraniční investice v České republice: teorie a praxe v mezinárodním srovnání (“Foreign direct investments in the Czech Republic: international comparison of theory and practice”; M. Srholec; Prague, Linde 2004, ISBN 80-86131-52-1, 171 p.) – the publication resulted from long-term research activities of the author at the Department of Economic Policy of University of Economics and in the Norwegian Center for technologies, innovations, and culture (TIK). The publication analyzes factors and impacts of FDIs for the Czech economy, namely their importance for promoting the dynamics of comparative advantages, and it formulates implications of the analysis results for the economic policy in related areas. 

Strukturální změny české ekonomiky v období transformace (“Structural changes of the Czech economy during the transformation period”; A. Kadeřábková; Prague, NÚJH 2004, ISBN 80-86729-10-9, 154 p.) – the publication originated as a study of Josef Hlávka National Economy Institute in 2003. Using alternative methodology approaches, the analysis focuses on qualitative characteristics of the export performance of the Czech economy from the second half of the 1990’s as a broader international comparison and prerequisites for the development of a quality-based comparative advantage.
