To eat in university cafeterias, students must buy corresponding meal tickets or a boarding pass, which are not subsidized by the Ministry of Education for private higher-education students. Clients can take their meals using a boarding card, which is issued in boarding offices. Boarding card holders have the possibility to use a computer ordering system or they can make cash payment. All Charles University cafeterias using the new software system allow clients to order their meals via credit/debit boarding card.
Cash payments are accepted in the cafeteria's cash office. Outside its opening hours, payments can also be made in other university buffets and cafeteria cash offices. The lowest deposit accepted is 200 CZK.
