The aim of the sports scholarships project is to make it possible for individuals with exceptional sport talent to study at VSEM. The individual study plan that these people can follow at VSEM enables them to keep their usual training schedule. They are equally provided with financial, material and methodical support of VSEM.
Terms and Conditions of the Sports Scholarship Grant
The sports scholarship is granted to a student on the basis of recommendation of the Czech Olympic Committee (Český Olympijský výbor - ČOV) or the Czech Paralymic Committe (Český paralympijský výbor - ČPV) or the student’s sport union. Such a student has to meet the necessary qualifying limits, set for his or her age group (for more information, see the Sports department of VSEM).
The sports scholarship applicant has to tick “sports scholarship” in the VSEM e-application form. He/she equally adds the review of his/her sport results, together with the sport efficiency growth plan for the time period of the given study programme, see the Review of the sports scholarships granted.
Conditions of the Admission Proceedings
The students wishing the sports scholarship to be awarded to them will be interviewed by the admission committee (the Pro-Rector for Study Affairs, the Study Department director, the Sports Department director). The aim of the interview is to find out about the candidate’s motivation to study and the possibility to combine the studies with his/her sports career. We thus discuss what the possibilities are to create an individual study plan for the student.
In order to be granted the sports scholarship, it is also necessary to meet the requirements of the admission proceedings. Successful sports scholarship applicants are then allowed to study at VSEM within their individual study plan (ISP) within the full-time or the part-time study mode.
Sports Scholarship Extent
The sports scholarship is always granted for the period of one academic year and it can be extended, reduced or taken away, depending on the student’s study and sport results.

Sport Results Supervision
The sport results achieved and the training plan (in xls/xlsx, doc/docx format) have to be sent to the Study Department via SIS VSEM/Study forms/Sportsman file, always at the end of each trimester (i.e. 3 times per year). In case all the necessary materials are not submitted, the scholarship holders are denied access to SIS VSEM and the sports scholarship is taken away from them in the given academic year with no compensation.
